IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Luke fon Fabre
Canon: Tales of the Abyss
OU/AU/OC: OU; AU from Tower of Animus
Canon Point: Before arriving at Akzeriuth + Tower of Animus development (not long after the wire frame bodies were revealed).
History: Canon history at Aselia Wiki.

Before Luke could arrive at Akzeriuth and cause the destruction there, his world ended.

He didn't know that for certain at the time of course, and held onto the belief that his world was really okay, he just got kidnapped yet again, for his first month stuck in the Tower. This led him to being his usual stuck up, snobby, bossy and loud self to anyone that would care to listen to him whine. He did not make many new friends right off the bat, especially with people around "letting him know" that he didn't have to eat the oatmeal when he first woke up in the Tower. So nice of them.

Luke's attitude about the whole situation changed when the Infighting Event occurred. He was one of the many collared residents round up in the Tower, brought down to the lower levels and caged as part of Jason's group, and he didn't understand at first why everyone was so terrified. He found out soon after, as the mad scientist had him strapped down, his ears removed, and headphones that kept playing a distorted version of Tear's hymn over and over again wired in their place. After the first week of steadily loosing his mind and screaming in agony, Jason let him hear other people's thoughts -- something that ultimately ended up being a mistake on Jason's part, as that was how he was able to meet Yu, who helped him keep his mind until the end of the event. This first experience with how terrible the Tower can be and particularly Jason had a massive impact on Luke, and it eventually led to Jason being the first person Luke genuinely hated.

Luke was significantly subdued after this event, and rarely came out to interact with anyone. At this time, Yu had left him a paper crane, hoping to cheer him up. Luke ended up guarding that paper crane with his life, going so far as to risk getting sick when the Tower flooded, just to find a safe, dry place to keep it, and he still had it on his person when he left the Tower.

Luke also received a "gift" from the Tower around this time for being such a "good" participant in the event. This gift was the pink cheagle he ended up calling Amnon. Like all cheagles, he could only speak in "mieu mieu" noises, but he was capable of reading and writing. However, as Luke would later discover, Amnon was created in the Tower based off of information from Auldrant, and had never actually seen their world. This was hard for Luke to deal with after finding out they were all just wire frames and that Amnon wasn't even really "real". Amnon assured him that he was, because there was no way he could be this happy with Luke if he wasn't a real cheagle, and stayed with Luke even after he left the Tower.

Though he was keeping himself safe by staying as far away from everything as he possibly could, he couldn't avoid the fog when it flooded the Tower, causing Shadows to appear. With as many issues as he had, both from his own world and from the Tower, of course his own Shadow appeared, mocking him and pointing out that he should be used to seeing his face on another person by now. Yu came to his aid again to talk some sense into him and accept himself, and Luke returned the favor later by helping Yu when his own personal struggles became too much for him to handle.

From that point on, Luke became closely tied with the other Persona kids, especially Yu, who agreed to help him learn to fight better. His respect for him ran really deep, to the point where Luke was showing him the most respect he could by referring to him as "master" in Yu's own language. This continued even as more of Luke's own companions started to arrive at the Tower, and was met with varying approval, though Asch in particular pointed out that Luke was just using Yu as a replacement for Van. Naturally, Luke didn't appreciate that very much.

The other Persona users he had significant interaction with were Teddie and Rise. Teddie had the misfortune of swapping bodies with Luke during an event; his response to this was to cut Luke's hair because it was too long and in the way. That on top of the fact that Luke had the worst trouble shaking off making bear puns after he was back in his own body led to him being particularly annoyed with the bear. Rise he got along with well, although he had the misfortune of often greeting her by face planting into her chest at the worst times.

As others from Auldrant eventually arrived at the Tower, Luke slowly started to piece together the things that would happen in his future that he missed out on. He accepted the fact that he was a replica a lot easier than he would have otherwise, as he suspected something was wrong with him ever since confronting his Shadow. It made him question himself, however, and he wondered for a time if he could even call himself "human" since he was just a copy of someone else. Tear and Jade helped him move past it, but surprisingly it was Asch that helped him finally develop his own independent thought.

Asch was an unending source of confusion and anger for Luke. Part of him wanted to look up to his original -- if this was the person he came from, then if he just responded to the Tower like he did, everything should have been okay, right? But to Luke, it looked like the Tower was making Asch lose his mind; at times he would be that same asshole that he knew, strong and determined, and other times Luke would see him cowering, breaking from the horrors that the Tower threw at him. Eventually, he determined that he did not want to be anything like his original, and that determination led to a fight between the two of them on the stairs of the Tower that Luke won, cutting off his ties from Asch, happy to tell someone with his face, "You're not me."

Luke was blissfully taken away from the Tower not long after this occurred, but he did witness the fact that their bodies were nothing more than wire frames, with the liquid in his collar helping to contain his soul. Since he'll be coming in with that collar around his neck, he'll be particularly paranoid and protective of it, until he realizes it's not working the same way anymore, and his pony body is actually real.

Note on Possible Character Conflict: As mentioned, Luke was working on being responsible for his own actions and thinking independently of other people. He was even starting to move away from Yu and start doing things on his own. If Yu and Luke ever did need to interact, it could easily be handwaved as happening off camera, and it's unlikely Luke would stick around him much as he's not the same Yu that he knows.
Personality: Luke had a significant amount of development in Animus, and while his spoiled rotten side has toned down, he can and will get snippy when people try to tell him things in anything other than simple speech, or try and tell him he can't do something. He does try to catch himself, though sometimes he will whine and throw a tantrum when he can't get his way, and these temper tantrums usually involve flailing, screaming, and general fussiness. He still bores easily, and has very little patience for much of anything; if there's something going on that doesn't have to do with him, it's not going to hold his interest, and he will zone out on top of getting offended if someone tries to include him after he's already missed half of what was happening.

He still has a very high regard for life, even for non-human creatures, and will actually put himself in danger to make sure that no one dies. He can still be a bit shy about this side of himself, and often dismisses it and just waves it off like it was no big deal. Despite being a fighter himself, he has an extreme reluctance to kill, and will often not fight unless he absolutely has no other choice. He's especially paranoid about death after the Tower, and the sight and sounds of torture and experimentation can make him freeze up. If it's bad enough, it could even possibly lead to flashbacks, and he may not be able to function very well.

His stubbornness gets Luke into trouble more often than not, and once he sets his mind to something, he keeps going for it until he either succeeds, or forces beyond his control stop him. Even then, that my fail to stop him unless he's knocked out, as he's just that stubborn. He also has a curious streak that leads to some painful lessons, not all of which sink in right away, though he has been getting better with that since even the most innocent looking of things can and would kill you in the Tower. Despite this, he really doesn't like dangerous situations and tends to take the easy way if there is one, rather than the hard way.

Luke can be almost painfully blunt, and he is honest almost to a fault. He is incapable of lying, and even keeping secrets is difficult for him. His people skills are getting better, but they're still extremely poor, and he's almost paranoid of trusting people. He knows what Van will do to him thanks to his companions in the Tower, and he's terrified of falling into that same trap again. He knows the people that he can trust -- his companions in canon, and those that he met in the Tower -- but reaching out to new people is going to leave him at a distance for quite awhile. Despite this distrust, people with really strong charisma could still possibly worm into his little bubble and pop it easily from the inside.

He can still complain about the stupidest things, and sometimes his priorities can be skewed. The best example of this is he can hold his clothes in the same regard as other people in the respect that he doesn't want to sacrifice them for anything. He tries very hard to focus on what is actually important, however, and he does show a little more care as far as absorbing information and making his own decisions is concerned. He can get a little annoyed if someone tries to tell him what he's doing is wrong; he wants to learn his own lessons his own way, and he can't do that if he doesn't make mistakes every now and then. This does lead him into some serious trouble at times, but he at least has the grace to admit when someone else was right.
Strengths: Luke had been training under Van Grants in Albert-style swordsmanship, and it's something he loves to do very much (mostly because he didn't have much else to do in his manor). It's one of the few things he takes very seriously and makes a big deal about it (for example; in the audio drama version of the game, he prided himself on finally mastering Fang Blade, and made sure that everyone around him knew it). In terms of game mechanics, Luke is about your average, run-of-the-mill swordsman-class character. In the Tower, Yu picked up on his training and helped him get stronger. Using game mechanics as a reference again, Luke started in the Tower around level 15 with a very small skill set, and after the Tower and training with Yu, he was about level 30, complete with cool finishing move unlocked.

Luke is also capable of generating a hyperresonance on his own. This hyper stimulation of sound is very powerful, able to destroy anything it's pointed at. This power comes from the fact that he is the Scion of Lorelei's power -- Lorelei being the aggregate sentience behind the Fonon of sound, an essential Fonon for the world of Auldrant, as it is needed to read the Score and know the future. Essentially, he's a copy of a copy of a god-like presence that's an essential part of his planet. For the 50% cap; I'm willing to forgo him having access to this power, since it is something that would require mod permission to use anyway given how destructive it is.

On that note, should an Asch or two ever appear in the game, they would be able to communicate with Luke mentally. This is because while at Coral Castle, Luke had been grabbed by Dist and had his synchronous fon slots opened. This communication can only be initiated by Asch, though the two of them can talk back and forth this way. Asch has also shown himself capable of controlling Luke's body, as well as carrying Luke's consciousness around in his head. Every time Asch starts a connection with him, Luke suffers from a severe headache, though it goes away as soon as the connection is closed. Lorelei has also been shown communicating and controlling Luke in this manner.

Amnon also has a little skill of his own, in the respect that he can breathe fire. He's not very strong, and can only manage a small puff of flame that extends out a few feet before dissipating.
Weaknesses: Luke still has a number of bad habits while fighting, and the fact that now he has to hold his sword in his mouth to fight isn't going to help him at all. He will be exceptionally clumsy at first trying to get used to his new body, and it's very likely he'll hurt himself in the process.

While Asch and Tear attempted to give Luke training in controlling his hyperresonance, he still has very little control over it. If it were to overwhelm him while he tried to use it, the results could be potentially disastrous, and he could hurt himself or other people around him. On that note, while he really hates it when Asch communicates with him or tries to control him, he can't stop him from doing it either, as he does not have the access or the training to do so.
Possessions: His sword, a paper crane, the (now defunct) collar from the Tower, and Amnon the cheagle.
Pony/Animal Type: Luke will be an Earth Pony, Amnon will be a bunny.
Cutie Mark: A sword surrounded by a musical staff with some notes on it.
